School Culture & Climate
How to build schools where students and staff feel they belong — the relationships, rituals, and leadership habits that turn a building into a community.
Educator · Retired High School Principal · Speaker
For twenty-five years, Tony Walton has led classrooms and schools with a simple belief: that great education is built on character, connection, and care. Now he brings that experience to educators and school leaders through keynotes, workshops, and consulting.
My Mission
To empower and educate educators and administrators on the need to create a sense of developing grit and emitting goodness — in the classroom, and throughout their lives.
— Tony Walton
About Tony
Tony Walton began his career as an educator in 2001, stepping into the classroom with a conviction that every student deserves an adult who believes in them. In 2007 he moved into school administration, and he went on to serve as a high school principal in the Live Oak Unified School District in northern California.
Across two and a half decades, Tony has led through change, championed school culture, and kept his focus where it matters most: on the daily experience of students and the teachers who serve them. Having recently retired from district leadership, he now shares what he has learned with the next generation of educators and administrators.
His approach is warm, practical, and grounded in real schools and real people — not theory. He believes leadership is a daily act of character, and that the best schools are the ones where grit and goodness are taught side by side.
Keynotes & Workshops
Tony delivers in-person keynotes and workshops for schools, districts, and conferences. Each talk is shaped around your community and built to leave teachers and leaders both inspired and equipped.

Practical, people-first strategies for helping every student thrive, with attention to the students who too often get left behind.
Tony's signature message: why character — perseverance paired with kindness — belongs at the center of how we teach and lead.
Consulting & Advisory
Leadership can be lonely, and the work is hard. Tony partners with principals, aspiring administrators, and district teams who want a steady, experienced voice in their corner — someone who has sat in the chair and made the hard calls.
